Game Modes

Read the lobby's map, mode and round briefing before choosing a role. The map determines the available factions, technology, equipment and objectives. A combat objective does not replace the server rules.

Nomads and TDM host modes and maps selected through votes. For organised rounds, read the Events Guide and the event announcement before choosing a role.

Survival scenarios

Use the Survival Scenarios guide to distinguish shipwreck, stranded-island, wasteland and competitive survival rounds.

An island, wasteland or hostile environment can change the priorities of an otherwise familiar mode. Check the map guide for the scenario, and use the Survival Guide for food, shelter and environmental hazards. Follow the briefing's relationship between factions: a survival scenario is not automatically permission to attack other players.

Choosing a role

Start with a role whose immediate task you understand. Ask your faction or crew what needs doing before taking scarce equipment. For basic movement, interactions and character creation, read the New Player Guide and Hotkeys.
